Exclusive with Food 52

So happy to announce my collaboration with Food 52! The super salad bowl…exclusively at Food52!

I have been working on a wonderful salad bowl…you know the perfect size that you can use everyday….that serves two to four people. The bowl is very organic in shape and has a wonderful texture that I press into the clay on the underside of the bowl. It has a really glossy white glaze..very yummy. This bowl is sold exclusively on the Food 52 website. Now if you don't know Food 52 and you love to cook and eat…well get on over there because that is the place for you! Super recipes and so much more….also a short article on 5 reasons you should be using bowls to serve and eat your food with a little info on my process.

Oh and check out my new video on making a Banana Pecan Bread here….(you can see the bowl in action!!)

Dressed up in Blue

Love this deep shade of blue and the colours that go with it. The yellows, toffee and white of course. These rooms really feel fully dressed in these deep tones. Hope you are having a good week!

Decor: Striped Rugs

I bought a striped rug last year for my living room and I really love it. It is a great accent piece in a room that basically has no other pattern. I like the added texture but I have kept it in a neutral to match the rest of the room. There are so many reasonably priced striped carpets in wool or cotton and of course the black and white stripe one from Ikea is always a good choice.

Vintage Art with Anewall

I have talked before about using vintage prints and photography in your home and how it can make such a wonderful statement. Using a large piece of artwork looks great in the center of a gallery wall or keeping it simple with one print as a focal point in any room.

Someone who is doing these large style vintage prints and murals really well is Anewall. They have the most amazing pieces in their on-line shop and when they asked me if I would like one of their pieces to style in my own home...well... I found it so difficult to choose from all of the beautiful prints they have! I finally chose the piece called Nicolas Henri in the 28x38" size. The pale colours really fit with my decor and even though the piece has a very traditional look it actually feels very modern in my space.

They really take so much care in the quality of their pieces and in their customer service...as you can tell I am really a fan!! ....check them out here...

Check out the wonderful murals that are available as well..The floral one is amazing!!

Wonderful open concept living room and a space saving bookshelf in the hallway. There are some good ideas in this small space for every home.

Cozy Resto

On my recent trip to New York my daughter took me to a really great little resto called Maman. Loved the atmosphere of this little cafe that serves homemade pastries and lovely lunches. We ate lasagna and a small salad, both delicious. The design of the place was very sweet all in blue and white vintage feeling. This month Lonny Magazine (more photos at Lonny Mag) features the restaurant and the home of this couple in their magazine and their home is done with the same fun style as their business.

Marble Trends

So we seem to be seeing marble everywhere these days...real and faux in just about everything from phone cases to back splashes. What is interesting is that the marble trend I'm seeing is very busy, veined marble that really makes a statement. None of this subtle trends of the past but Calcutta, Statuarietto and other very beautiful and rich marble looks. I am really loving the marble sinks I am seeing. Amazing..

California Dreaming

This California house has a great neutral base with nice texture and pattern to elevate it to high style. I like how the furniture in the living room has been positioned to make the most of the space. The bedroom has wonderful pieces and again lots of texture and It feels super feminine and light.
