Fantastic Real Estate

I really like these Swedish websites that feature real estate in a new way. The homes are styled to the max and look so appealing and fresh. You feel like you could just move in and everything is ready to go. The two real estate sites I really love are Fantastic Frank and Stadshem.  This great apartment is from Fantastic Frank and is pretty typical of what you would see on the site. Lots of white decor with some wonderful, mid-century or industrial and often vintage touches. Very often the kitchens have wonderful finishes and they always feel super modern and hip. Remember they are for sale so...any takers?
Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Studio Decor

Well I finally did it! I am opening my own ceramic studio with two friends and fellow artists...So excited! This will be another great part in my life as an entrepreneur, artist, interior designer, brand builder and blogger of course! I am thrilled to have a place to work on my ceramics but not only that, we will give classes in the space as well so that will be so much fun. This is a dream I have had that is coming to realization and it is a great feeling!!

So of course being an interior designer I can not wait to decorate and all week I have been putting together ideas. It is a very square space that we have and very industrial. The walls are white of course and the concrete floor is grey. This is a working studio that will have a lot of traffic...for this reason I think I will add a bit of colour...one accent colour (I would love yellow) plus lots of wood and metal. Take a look at some of the ideas I found....

Inspiration in White: Black and White in Fashion and Home

Here are a few of my favourite Pins this week...So loving all the black and white I have been finding lately in fashion and in home decor. It must be the time of year because I am really wanting to add black to my all white home and add white into my all black wardrobe, even in winter. So fun to mix things up a bit don't you think?

I have been working super hard in the studio these days with ceramic orders and I have even been testing a bit of black on my white ceramics...just for a change. I will show you a few pieces when I feel they are where I want them to be. Take a look at some of these great ideas...

My daughter, Chloe Crane-Leroux, is a photographer and this is one of her photoshoots. Check out her website..

Super Apartment in Sweden

Such a cute apartment in Sweden with wonderful and interesting details! The kitchen is so great with the high back splash of subway tile and the eat-in area. I love the hanging lights throughout the apartment...gives it a modern feel for not too high a cost....so easy to add these to any home. Great floors boards and what about that incredible wallpaper! I just love the look of it in an all white home..with that wonderful wall of colour in the dining room. The mix of chairs and the shot of green to coordinate with the wall is really fun. I love to add a bit of the unexpected in to a room and I find that is a bit of what we see in this apartment....

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Yellow Accents

The beauty of having an all white home is that you can choose any colour you want as an accent. I have shown you ideas for adding green and blue but yellow adds a real touch of the bohemian to a room. It feels younger and more edgy than most other colours and it takes a bold person to mix more than a couple of pieces of this colour into a room.....but the beauty is you don't need much to get great impact. I just finished a clients bedroom that is white and grey with yellow, gold cushions and it looks amazing!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Textured Walls

There is something about textured walls that I really love...I am not talking about the old fashioned sponge painting here..I mean the "Hey look I tore the wallpaper off the wall and I like it" kind of texture! The rough feeling of old paint, brickchipping wood, torn wall paper and peeling plaster.... contrast that against chic, sophisticated furnishings and lighting.

In the photos below the walls are shown with shabby chic, industrial and French style and they look amazing in every picture. Now of course you have to have the right type of home...but does it have to be a really old home? Can you achieve this look in...say a new industrial loft? Of course you could and it would be amazing! Take a look and let me know what you think?

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Kids Rooms

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

When my daughter was growing up we went through many decor changes in her bedroom. She would get tired of the decor at about the same time I would and I pretty much let her have her way when it came to picking colours and decor after about the age of 7 (just some small help from mom). The one difference for her was she loved colour..of course! Don't all little girls love colour? So her room went from yellow, to pale pink (the princess phase), to blue, to pink again (her bohemian phase) and now to...you guessed it...white! Now, at 19, she loves all white and has done up her room in an industrial style with white, black and natural. I love it and it looks great with the rest of the house. I prefer white rooms even for young kids because I think there is so much you can do with colour in the accessories. Here are a few that I really like in white and some great bright colours...

Interiors: Lovely for Rent

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I often look at homes on sites that are either selling properties or renting different homes for photography. There are so many creative beautiful homes on these sites and the spaces are often light filled with wide open rooms. I have seen some homes decorated in two or three different ways for different photo shoots and they look so original each time and the home takes on the feeling of the brand or product that is being shot in the home.

One of the sites I like is Light Locations. There are so many beautiful homes on this site and the decor is often simple and clean like this home below. What a perfect base to build on with lovely furnishings and of course there is the gorgeous architecture. Check that amazing mirror in the living room and the pale chevron floor in the kitchen..really beautiful! Here are One and Two more homes from Light Locations.

Enjoy!

Beautiful in Brooklyn

I first saw this home in the book Decorate by the wonderful blogger Holly Becker and I could not stop looking at it over and over. It provided me with some great inspiration for a project I have been working on for the past few months. So while visiting the site The Selby today I ran across this  house once again and decided I had to share it with you! (I love the The Selby by the way. Homes of all sorts of wonderful creative people!)

This is the home of Lyndsay Caleo and Fitzhugh Karol who are interior designers and artists. What I am so inspired by is the way the home works as a whole.....how it feels entirely seamless with one room flowing beautifully into the next. The rooms have a natural, sort of artsy vibe while still being very sophisticated. The kitchen is just perfect for me..open shelving, big farmhouse sink yet it feels modern with the countertops and stainless steel. Oh yes this is really such a great space!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Black and White

The effect of black and white in decor can be so dramatic, daring and chic. The neutral and timeless look of black and white looks so gorgeous in fashion why wouldn't it look just as fantastic in your home. There are so many ways to use this combo to create the drama as you can see in the collection of photos below. Black furniture against stark white walls, black and white tile, black and white images on the wall or black and white lighting. Two of the blogs I go to for great black and white looks is Vogues Paris and Emmas Design Blogg. Both very talented bloggers with incredible taste. Here are a couple of other homes I have posted about with black and white decor....here and here.

Enjoy!
