Fun with White and Green

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I was cruising through my last issue of Vogue Living and I came across the first photo below. Now I like a touch of blue in my home or a dash of red but have never loved green. Even when they announced this year that Emerald green was the Pantone colour of the year I was kinda mehhh....but when I saw this photo I said now that is nice! It got me to look around at photos of green in home decor and you know what..I am kinda loving this green! I mean green is nature and it is perfect in so many ways when brought into the home, food, and of course a little cocktail.. I am definitely changing my tune so long as white is present it is all good..

Rustic Retreat

This gorgeous space is not a home but a luxury bootcamp called The Ranch! Thanks to Est Magazine, we get a sneak peek inside these wonderful, calm and peaceful rooms....which I think you would need after being out all day doing four or five hours of group hikes, daily yoga sessions and core and ab work.

A bit if luxury with a rustic feeling, I think this is a place I could actually enjoy a week of detox!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Olive Trees & Myrtles

I am not a person that has a lot of house plants in my home but I do love the look of olive trees and myrtles in decor. I am always finding photos that inspire me and they often have one of these plants in among the vintage decor. I do have a couple of myrtles in my home and since I find them so beautiful I thought I would share a few....

Enjoy!

Loving these: Cloches

My house is filled with different glass domes or cloche as we say in French and I really have a lot of fun with them. I put all sorts of things under them from shells to plants and old books and nests.

This one below is from the table in the shop this past month and I had filled it with vintage silver. I set the table with my ceramics as well.

Beautifully done with the ink and quill.

Pretty with some sheet music rolled inside..

This from Atelier de Campagne. Go visit their Facebook page for great ideas..

I am considering buying some for the shop with some pretty wood or mercury glass stands like these below. What do you think?....Isn't the jewellery gorgeous as well??

Enjoy!

My 2012 Top Posts

It was only 6 months ago that I began my website and blog. Wow did that go quickly! Why did I start it? Well I wanted to share my love of home decor (and of course of all things white)! A passion I have had for many years and that I fulfilled one other time in my life when I had my own home decor boutique. I was lucky enough to help my clients decorate their homes with the treasures I had found and I am so pleased to be able to do that again as I move back into the design field.

My biggest surprise this year came from how much I love blogging and the reason is really because of you! I am amazed at the incredible support from everyone and love and read every comment that I receive.

Thank you for making the past 6 months so wonderful and I will continue to try to surprise and delight you through 2013. Let me know how I am doing!

Here are some of my Top posts of 2012!

My favourite post of the year was the Paris Home of Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier .

Greek Island Beauty with Paola Navone

This Creamy Cottage was a much loved post by me and you!

This lovely Gingerbread House...

And of course we all love Nina Hartmann's home and her books Vintage by Nina!

No year would be complete without a post on Shabby Chic!

And finally the most viewed and loved post was this beautiful Edwardian Cottage..

Wishing you the best for 2013! Health, success and happiness to all of you....

Beautiful Wood Floors!

There is nothing like a beautiful wood floor to add charm and warmth to a home. There are so many colors and finishes of wood to use now that you can find exactly what you need to suit any style of home. I have dark wood floors in my house and I love the contrast it makes against the white but if I had to redo my floors today I would make them a pale grey wood. I think it adds a bit of a rustic feel to any space and can combine easily with any style of home. Take a look at a few floors I like...

Enjoy!
