Beautiful Wood Floors!

There is nothing like a beautiful wood floor to add charm and warmth to a home. There are so many colors and finishes of wood to use now that you can find exactly what you need to suit any style of home. I have dark wood floors in my house and I love the contrast it makes against the white but if I had to redo my floors today I would make them a pale grey wood. I think it adds a bit of a rustic feel to any space and can combine easily with any style of home. Take a look at a few floors I like...

Bodie and Fou

If you do not know the company, Bodie and Fou, you must take a look at their website and blog. I am so inspired by their creativity and their approach to their business. The product they carry is really modern and mixes European design with French flair.

The two sisters, Elodie and Karine, are French but they built their business in London starting in 2005. On her blog Karine gives us a very personal and inspirational look at the building of the business that is Bodie and Fou and an intimate peek into her family life as well.

Take a look at some of the pictures from her home in London..

This is Karine with her husband and daughter..

Wood with White

Take a look at this beautiful home shown in Architectural Digest this month. I find it perfectly combines white interiors and furnishings with warm wood to create an outstanding modern, yet cozy interior. This California home belongs to designer Jenni Kayne and her husband real estate agent Richard Ehrlich.

Paris Interior

I spent a lot of time in Paris last year for work and I always imagined what type of apartment I would have if I lived there. I would drive by the most beautiful apartment buildings and dream of what the interiors could look like and how they were decorated. When I saw this apartment, shot for Elle Decor, I said THAT IS IT! That is the apartment in my imagination with the high ceilings and wonderful moldings!! The flat is owned by the design team Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier. So incredibly chic....

Entryway Ideas

The foyer or entryway gives the first impression of your home so you want it to be fantastic! I had my entry redone two years ago and each time I come into the house I appreciate it so much. Adding a simple table, a painting or changing the tile can instantly make a difference.

Shabby Chic

I have loved Shabby Chic for many years and feel it got a bad rap as outdated, fluffy and expensive. I think this is a look anyone can do in their home and mixed with barn style, industrial, modern or traditional it can look updated and fresh. Rachel Ashwell is of course the Queen of Shabby Chic and I have some wonderful shots today from her website below!

Enjoy!
