Beautiful Modern

Love the windows in this modern neutral apartment. When I see a home with a mix of greys, beige and cream I want this palette all over again! Feel relaxing and easy...

Enjoy!

Soft Industrial

A few photos of this gorgeous space that I call soft industrial. It has great industrial elements but it is softened with chandeliers, flowers and smooth lines. The dining room table is simply perfect because it is not too wide and the wood is full of texture. A really lovely space!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Fun Apps

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I really love some of the new apps that are out for the iphone and ipad! These apps make taking pictures and videos fun and creative! I took these pictures and video around my own house using these apps:

My latest obsession is OVER...I mean the app called Over..It adds text to your photos like this...

Then there is Shapely to give your photos a bit of added pizazz..

An of course for videos there is Vine. I love this app and am just getting started with it. You can make 7 second videos on your iphone and stop and start your filming by touching the screen. Not as user friendly as some of the apps but a lot of fun and great for bloggers or anyone that likes to create short stories with video.

Don' t forget you can follow me on Vine, Instagram and Pinterest! What are some of the new apps you like to use?

Cabin Decor

I always dreamed of having a log cabin somewhere in the mountains of Quebec but that was not to be. My love of cabin decor however has lived on and this space really has the best of this design. Gorgeous and rustic with all of the modern touches necessary to make it comfortable. A big kitchen with a wonderful  adjacent family room. A gorgeous bathroom and a view outside that is sure to relax the mind and cure the soul!

Enjoy!

Interiors: Restaurant Höst

Check out these pictures of the restaurant Höst by the architects Norm out of Denmark. I love how they used reclaimed wood and woolen blankets to create a warm and inviting environment. Who would want to leave this place? What the designers did was mix the feeling of eating outside on a Scandinavian farmyard with an urban, more minimalist decor. They also produced a line of tableware for the restaurant as well as design custom tables and seating.

The cuisine uses traditional ingredients of Nordic cooking made modern and new. Very much like the design of this wonderful space.

In the Details..

This is the home of Annabelle Kerslake who is the editor of the on-line magazine Fete. A wonderful open plan space offsetting dark furniture with white and cream. I love the Victorian letter holder that has a card from a photo shoot for the magazine as well as the silver stag head. A bird decal on the wall above vintage books is another of the cool fun elements in this home. The bedroom of Annabelle's daughter is especially cute with the white and pink striped tent over the bed and the ruffled bed cover makes this space perfect for any little girl.

So many beautiful details in this home and I think that is what makes any home so different and special...

Contemporary Chic

This home, all done up in neutrals, is so chic and contemporary yet still very comfortable. Gorgeous textures and the mix of old and new pieces keep it interesting. Love the bathroom fixtures and the use of mirrors in the dining room. Pale walls blend with the floor and furniture to create a soft and warm space. Really lovely..

This lovely apartment in Sweden is full of collections, antiques, vintage finds and lots of humour! I really love the stork that you can see in the living room. Take a look at the collection of teapots above the armoires and in the glass case are the collections of sponge pottery and small animals...

Inspiration in White: Stylish Stairways

I love the extra details you see in certain homes...you know all the forgotten areas that we don't bother to decorate but in certain homes the decor goes all the way... to the stairway! It is a really area of opportunity because it is usually near the entrance of the home, takes up a large amount of space and can look so cool without spending a lot of money! Just adding some paint or a cool runner can make such a difference in the look of the stairway and can complete add great impact. Take a look at a few that I found for you!

A really cool runner in bright colours adds fun to the all white entry.

Painted blue and cream runner looks so good for a little French look.

A bright orange runner on white but with the added orange stripe up the wall.

Another blue and white painted stair but with a wide stripe.

All white stairway is always good!

French numbers! Love it...

Pretty pale blue..

Numbers, numbers..

Enjoy!

Farmhouse Style

This farmhouse located in upstate New York was first featured on Decor 8 (love Holly's blog. Just bought her book) for Rue Magazine. The photographer Emily Gilbert (first of all she is amazing) really captured the spirit of the family that lives here...of course this type of home is really the kind that I love.. vintage collections (the zinc watering cans are great) and a mix of various styles that together create a wonderful and comfortable space.

Enjoy!
