HK Living: Interior Brand

I follow the brand HK Living on Instagram and I have to say I love their products! It is a Dutch brand that has gone global with its original, pure and modern designs. They feature very stylish lighting, some of it very industrial as you see below. Other hanging lights have knitted covers with matching pillows, super hip chairs and mini benches..well the list of products goes on. The styling of the catalogue is really well done...no surprise they are doing so well .

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Green!!

I am loving some of the green touches I am seeing these days. Green is a hard colour and can go wrong rather easily...a bit like red...but when it is the right shade of green it is fantastic. Check out these gorgeous greens used in just about every room in the house and some not in the house at all....

Brights and White

Pretty pops of colour in this compact apartment. Black glass backsplash in the kitchen provides great reflection along with the modern white cabinets. A great wall of closets behind the bed are a wonderful decorative element in the room as well. The apartment is for sale on Husman Hagberg if you are interested...another great real estate website.

Enjoy!

Pins of the Week: Rustic Kitchens

Now, it's hard not to love a rustic style kitchen. These have all the best elements of rustic style......wood, brick, rustic lighting, vintage accessories and even more. I love the wood on the ceiling in the first photo! Looks amazing with the subway tile don't you think?

Have a great weekend!

From Vintage to Modern

This house from Domino Magazine has it all from vintage to modern and yet it still works. Very eclectic with a modern tufted sofa and an antique gateleg table in the same room. Super modern sconces in the living room with a shabby style chandelier in the bedroom, yet they both feel like they fit well. I really love the kitchen with the great wallpaper and all of the gold touches. There is so much texture in this home, from the sheepskin throws to the cowhide settee and the amazing variety of rugs and cushions. Very well done..

Black and White Modern

A very chic, modern home from Est Magazine that is completely done in black, white and grey. I love the use of the black tile on the wall in the kitchen and in the bathroom...and the back stove as well..so nice.

Well it is the start of a new week! Hope you all had a great long weekend and for those of you in Canada that celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had a lovely day with family and friends.

Pins of the Week: Bohemian

So what does it take to have a fabulous Bohemian apartment....well plenty of colour and some prints for sure. A lot of random accessories put in slightly odd places and mixed with other odd vintagey (I am making up words now) furniture and a general disregard for a specific style of decorating....In other words a creative sense of what you like and are not afraid to go for it! I love these rooms!

Have a great long weekend all!!

Industrial Style Reno

This soft industrial style is one I really like as it feels modern but is not too overdone or too cold. Lots of wood to keep the look warm with pretty vintage touches throughout. It doesn't really feel decorated but rather collected over time. I sort of feel that is how I decorated my own house and as I have said before you need to keep room for adding things you collect over time. A very pretty home and don't you love that little sunroom!

Inspiration in White: Bathroom Tile

I had an interesting discussion with a friend about bathroom tiles last week.....it was around using large tiles or small and wall tiles or no wall tiles. Many of the bathrooms I have done have been with large clean white or grey tiles. With my last client we used tiles that look like wood and I thought it was an amazing choice to do something different and when I look at these tiles with all of the pattern and interest, I have to say why not do more like this. There are so many interesting choices right now for bathroom tiles that to stick with the tried and true is well.. a little boring don't you think? Would you be brave enought to use these tiles in a large bathroom and not just a powder room?
