Crystal Chandeliers

What I like about crystal chandeliers is....well there is not much I don't like about crystal chandeliers (I like all chandeliers in general and have posted about them before HERE and HERE)....but what I find interesting is how they go in any space from formal and more contemporary to modern and vintage. I love them best when they are incorporated in the most unexpected decor. I mean you expect to see them in a more traditional home or with a shabby chic style but when they are in a very rustic home or used in a more industrial space with other industrial lighting, I am always delighted with the contrast. It is also great to see them used in an unusual area of the house like the pool cabana below. Love that extra touch of glamour!

(Great quality Endon Lighting chandeliers are available from Mail Order Lighting)

Enjoy!

London Townhouse

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

This renovated London terrace home has been opened up to create a living space that feels light and spacious. You still feel the age of the house but it has a wonderful modern feeling with clean, simple lines throughout. I think the terrace off the kitchen is really well done and the open lit shelf beside the fireplace that brings the living room and kitchen area together is such a great idea! What about that tub.... ahh, yes please...a great renovation for sure! Here is another post from a home in London...

Enjoy!

Seaside Cottage

The Swedish nautical theme starts at the front door in this pretty seaside cottage, with a beautiful pale teal hat stand. The house, though mostly white, continues with shades of blue throughout the home creating a wonderful continuity. Shells, palms and driftwood add just the right touch to finalize the theme. The little desk at the bottom of the stairs is so sweet and all of the painted cabinets are just perfect in the space. The floor is a high gloss industrial paint adding a bit of shine to the surface and reflecting the blues in the cabinets and paintings. I love the look of a seaside cottage and this one is beautifully done. There are a couple more from previous posts HERE and HERE.

Enjoy!

Schoolhouse Vintage

This restored 100 year old schoolhouse is full of gorgeous vintage style! From the moment you enter the home the pretty black and white tile leads you into wonderfully decorated space. The kitchen with a Smeg fridge (check out these Smeg fridges) and stove and has a white and grey painted floor and many wonderful little details...look at the little decorative iron piece over the top of the window. Such a creative replacement for a curtain valence!

For me one of the best pieces in this home is the gorgeous cabinet in the dining room.....oh so beautiful! It is such a large piece with such a small, simple base with a shabby finish...just perfect!

Enjoy!

Inspiration in White: Simplicity

Looking through my tumblr photos today got me loving these fresh and flowing light summery clothes and beautiful simple interiors. It is so lovely to see a space with gorgeous architecture that is really shown off with the simplest of decor... and the same goes for fashion... sometimes less is more.  I think I could live in any of these spaces and in all of these clothes....for today anyway :)!

Interiors: Shabby Eclectic

Gorgeous shabby, eclectic details in this London home....packed with homemade, crafty items such as the patchwork blanket on the chair and bed as well as worn vintage items and a pretty Mora clock. A lot of different styles packed into one space but it is lovely all the same. I love the little table in the hallway and the two corniche that add to the beautiful architecture of the entry. Worn white floors and pretty shutters and I would say there is nothing dull about this lovely home..

Enjoy!

Outdoor Decor

It has been a slow start to spring here in Montreal with too much rain and not enough relaxing in the SUN!! I am really wanting to get outside and set up my deck with our furniture and plants...(please go away rain, wind and cool days!) I am so inspired by the great pictures I see these days of outdoor spaces with a wonderful table and chairs for dinner with friends under the sun umbrella or long chairs by the pool. I really like vintage inspired pieces and chandeliers outdoors.... bringing the inside feeling into the outdoors is always beautiful...all you have to add are the flowers!

Enjoy!

Bohemian Luxury

This cool hotel, Hotel San Giorgio (go check out their website, it is really great), featured in Est Magazine this month is situated in Mykonos, Greece. The hotel has a great relaxed bohemian style but still looks very luxurious and super stylish. It has the traditional all white interiors that you see in Greece but with natural materials to set off each space and there is a beautiful simplicity that I just love! So calm and relaxing to look out over the blue skies and water in Greece. I traveled there four summers ago and would go back tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Bright and Light Decor

This little bright apartment has such a great feeling to it with all of the pretty prints on the wall and the fresh light decor. Lots of pretty pastels throughout add a real warmth to the space. The kids rooms are adorable and feel just right for little ones. I am keeping my eye out for great kids rooms these days as one of my lovely clients is having a baby so I would like to have some ideas for the babies room. The little rag rugs throughout the apartment fit perfectly with the rest of the decor. A very sweet space for sure!

Gustavian Beauty

On yesterdays post I showed one small portion of this incredible house. I have posted this same picture before on Tumblr and on Facebook and I finally found the entire home. It is so hard to describe this house....it is so spectacular in so many ways...kinda over the top....but if you look at each piece individually you see the most beautiful furniture, architecture and detail. I am in awe of all of these incredible pieces in one room...tooooo much! There is not one Mora clock but four...not one Gustavian mirror with gold trim but several. Each bench chair and table has wonderful detail...and then there is the ceiling....whew I am out of breath..Enjoy!!

Enjoy!
